Hello. I am in panic mode right now. We had a huge snake in our backyard yesterday. We live right next to woods. I keep my guinea pigs in our walkout basement. I am terrified a snake is going to get in now. My cages are huge! I thought about trying to cover them in snake fencing, but it would cost a fortune. I don't trust repellent. Looking for any advice please. I am thinking of maybe just fencing around all of my cages? I don't know. Ugh.

The only way to keep your guineas fully snake proof is keeping them indoors. Or if that cannot be done you MUST use snake/rodent proof wire, on, around and under your cage. A snake can get in the smallest of gaps.
Snake repellent is useless and will not stop a snake. Nothing will stop a snake except a snake proof cage.

My piggies are indoors in a walkout basement. I have decided to move them to the second floor of our house to be safe into our guest room. I can't stop worrying. I am cleaning out our guest room this weekend and stacking their cages. Thank you so much 💓
