I recently adopted my two boars from my local guinea pig rescue and I had noticed that one of them was sneezing quite a lot and had some discharge coming out of his nose. He shows no other sign of illness and seems very happy. Also, the other piggie is fine.

Any advice on what this could be would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

What are the bedded on?

They can sneeze when they are washing but if the discharge is there all the time it is best to get them vet checked in case it is the start of a URI.

Is the nasal disahrge clear, yello, green , white or something else?

s a rule of thumb - any nasal discharge continuing over 24hours should be a vets visit.

One of my boys started sneezing when I had him on my lap on the sofa & I noticed a clear discharge from one nostril. I'd had him for at least 2 years by then so was concerned that this was something new as his cagemate had no such problems & the bedding, hay, food was all still the same stuff. Took him to the vet & he did have the start of an URI. The vet gave him an injection of Baytril followed up by syringing in more Baytril for 3 more days & he was fine after that because we caught it so early. Of course I also gave pro-biotics an hour after the Baytril to counteract that nasty anti-biotic.

Fitch shouldn't cause a reaction, so definitely needs a vet check.
