I was torn between posting this here or in the behaviour section but I was wondering what the normal amount a guinea pig should sneeze is... I hear Smokey sneeze a lot but I don’t think I have ever heard Bacon sneeze, I hear Smokey at least once a day (maybe more) and I’m really paranoid, is this a good reason for worry? (I should mention he always has done this and the does have a healthy appetite, and is very active, Bacon is very much the same) Thank you ❤️

I an on Burgess Excel with dandelion and marigold for hay, could it be that?

Once a day in nothing, some of my now passed pigs sneezed about 5 times in an evening, its dusty hay. Just keep any eye open for crusty nostrils and eye gunk

Oh thank god! I have some spare time and this is nothing related to sneezing but would toys made out of plain paper be okay?

My willow sneezes relatively often after I put fresh hay out and she shoves her nose right into it 🤣 She did go for a vet check and there was not signs of illness so I think it's just a case of getting to know your animal and what's normal but if you are concerned then there's no harm in seeing a vet to make sure

The vet would 100% charge for that kind of stuff which I wouldn’t mind if it were cheap 😂😂😂

Although if I was majorly concerned I’d do it in a heartbeat 💗

Theo sneezes 7 or 8 times a day but he has a very narrow point nose and also eats too fast, he only sneezes when guzzling food and he's always done it and I guess he just has narrow sinuses but the vet says its fine :)

Guinea pigs often sneeze when they give themselves a piggy wash several times a day. they can also have the occasional sneezing fit when hay dust gets up their nose.

Sneezing as a health problem means lots of regular sneezing in an hour that goes on for hours on end and doesn't stop like in a one off sneezing fit.

Mine would sneeze a bit when I was using wood shavings as bedding, but when I switched to mainly fleece they only sneeze when they’ve gotten carried away in the hay pile!
