One of my pigs that I adopted at the weekend had a little sneeze. She'd been checked out at the vets before being put up for adoption and was given the all clear. My problem is that now all of my four pigs have a little sneeze. Bingo and Inca have slightly gunky eyes too. I know that some of these symptoms can be linked to URIs. I've read up that piggies do get some discharge from their eyes but they both look gunkier than usual.

I think I shall be taking them all to the vets - as I'm really worried. 8...

Doesn't sound good, could be a URI, it is always a good idea to keep any new pigs away from your existing ones for at least 2 weeks so that any sniffles and scratches can be seen and checked before passing them on to the rest of your piggies. I think a wee visit to the vets is in order. :(

They aren't in contact yet as the cage is divided and the rescue had kept them alone for at least 2 weeks to check for any signs of illness. Bingo's eye isn't as gunky, neither is Inca's but I'll be keeping a close eye on them all tonight. Florrie had been taken to the vets (was seen by a piggy vet) and they'd given her the all clear. It may have just been because of them being outside and the oilseed rape field that is behind my house which often makes me sneeze a bit.

I can't get an appointment at the vets today - none of my local ones are open now, so I'm going to be keeping a very close eye on them until tomorrow and I shall try to make an appointment then. I haven't heard any sneezes since taking them inside so hopefully it was just the fields that made them sneeze. Thanks for your reply.
