The guinea pigs are back indoors. I came back from uni this weekend and noticed Amber was a little snuffly. Her nose is clear to look at, no crust or running. But every now and again she gives a little sniffle.

I'm not sure if it's the wood shavings that are irritating her? Either way they're both back indoors on fleece for now. She is running around, (so many zoomies last night!) eating and drinking fine.

I'm thinking of taking her to the vets tomorrow just in case.

Are they usually on fleece? If so it is probably the shavings. If it is getting better now they are on fleece then that is probably the case. It is definitely a good idea to take her to the vets if you don't see a massive improvement, as you said just in case! Hope she gets better soon:)xx

They were on fleece when I first got them. But they've been on shavings and hay in their hutch for two weeks. I do think could be this but I want to be safe and get her checked anyway :)

It sounds like it could be the shavings but you are right to get her checked. You could look into alternative substrate like Fitch or Aubiose.

Yes I'm looking into getting them an alternative. She seems happier on the fleece. The snuffles have improved since yesterday.

I'll get her checked this week at the vet just to make sure.
