Poppy'sMum
Senior Guinea Pig
I was just wondering how many others have come across this before?
OH alerted me this morning that Chubster piggy was making a funny noise :... anyway on inspection she sounded snuffly, little noises from her noise, but no sign of any runniness etc. She was running about eating etc just as normal.
Now I know it could have been a possible URI or something, but after a dab of Vicks above her nose I gave her veggies & within an hour the noise had disappeared. I have dabbed Vicks a few more times since in case, & monitored her very closely for any more noise but it seems to have gone completely.
Our last piggy had the same thing 2-3 times in her lifetime & I was certain that she had inhaled some water from the veggies, or drip bowl under the water bottle, or even some dusty bits from the bottom of the dry food bowl.
Could this be possible? Has anyone else experienced this?
Chubster (not her real name, but she is a greedy lady lol) is a total "Hoover" pig, she will put her snout on the floor & suck up anything in her path & maybe in the night she stuck her snout in the dish & breathed in something she shouldn't have.
Obviously it will be a vet visit should the noise return or if she looks off colour in the next 24 hours.
Any thoughts/experience of this anyone?
