My piggies live in our greenhouse in the winter and yesterday they ventured outside in the snow.
Here are some photos:

Don't worry, they only stayed out about 5 minutes before going back to their nice warm hay. Judging by the excited squeaking they were either enjoying it or telling me their paws were cold!

arr bless they look like they enjoyed it . i was worrying in case they get colds , we havent had snow only light dusting

Your lovely pictures have brought back some precious memories; thank you for that! :))

My first couple of piggies liked to have their daily walkie in the garden throughout the whole year - even if it was just to see that the weather was too awful; so I had to put them outside in the snow to show them that there really was no grass today! It was so much fun to watch them discover the white stuff for the few minutes they were safe and then for a nice snuggle on a towel that had been warmed over a radiator....

PS: Mischief had enough after the first time, but Minx really enjoyed pottering around!

Love those pics but I have to say Tiger and Rusty look like they are waiting by the door to get back to bed :))

Lovely Christmassy pictures. Bless them, they must have been so confused :(|)

Great pictures of your piggies in the snow. x) What a lovely colour Honey is, we had a piggy similar to her many years ago called Frisky. He was a real charmer, he belonged to our sons John and Troy.
Merry Christmas to you and your snow piggies. x):rose

I can't imagine piggies in snow! So funny! You should add reindeer antlers in photoshop :) Are outdoor piggies a different breed or do they just develop a tolerance to colder weather if you keep them outside?

Just wondering, I've noticed a lot of people in the UK keep piggies outside. Swedish piggies are only (according to books) allowed out in summer but then I guess our winters are harsher than yours too.

Aw! Bless them! They're having a little winter adventure :<>

They look all confused and amazed by the snow.

looks like they had a great adventure! i carried peewee outside on saturday and he didn't seem to like it so i quickly put him back! i think my boys would hate bein in the snow but i might give it a try when it starts to melt as its pretty thick our way!

All guinea pigs are the same they are meant to be kept at room temperature as there boddies cant cope with the cold thats where they are different to rabbits, very cute pigtures though

My piggies are definitely outdoor piggies. They never come in the house. Their hutches are outside in the summer and in a greenhouse in the winter. It got down to minus 4 in there last night.
The piggies have lots and lots of hay to snuggle into, and are in pairs so that they can cuddle up. They seem quite happy. :) They always feel nice and warm.
They seem to be able to withstand low temperatures so long as they are out of the wind and rain (and snow!).
