Well here we are again. Only two weeks ago I was writing about Tufty our little man we lost and here we are again. I always hope I don't have to come and leave a tribute here for a long time to come. Its not fair that I have to come here again for another guinea we have loved and lost.
Snowball - friend and partner to Rebel. Adopted in August 2008, born in November 2006. Snowball by name, appropriate for a guinea pure white in colour with a black eye. Your story started as such a sad one. You and Rebel (then Revel) were bought by a family with young children who quickly bored of you. Their grandad tried to look after you as best he could but it was not to be. You were taken in by a rescue centre in Newcastle. We found you both on the rabbitrehome website and knew you had to come and be with us. We travelled all the way from Yorkshire to Newcastle to collect you. You were so nervous of me, but not my partner. You always really had eyes for him because of your background. You soon warmed to us and became part of the family. The cold has taken its toll on all of us. I came to see you on the night of the 29th and gave you plenty of bedding and food for the night as I always do. Came to see you yesterday morning and you were snuggled up with Rebel in your bedding in your sleeping compartment. You were squeaking at me as usual and everything was as it should be. I came to tuck you all into bed last night and you were gone. I don't understand how or why it happened. Rebel was beside himself. I had to put you back to say your last goodbyes to him and he calmed down after that. I blame myself for what happened to you, I hope you were not in pain at the end and didn't suffer. I sincerely hope that we didn't do anything to cause this end. I think maybe your heart gave out in the end. Its not fair that you have been taken from us after such a short period of time. Your squeak will live with me forever. You had such a bizarre squeak. One loud, sharp squeak that silenced all the other girls in your shed. Yours always stood out from the rest. I will miss you my friend. Its not fair you have been taken from me along with all the rest. We will look after Rebel but please wait for him on the other side. We love you and miss you. Until we meet again.....
