Just wondering if anyone else had this...
My guinea snowy only has three claws on one front foot. The foot curves a little and looks little deformed but she runs about fine and seems happy....

Never heard of this before. It might be more important in the wild but as pets it shouldn't matter. One of the 2 girls I got in January Had 4 on the back instead of 3 but the 4th was only held on by a little bit of flesh so I get my vet to remove it.

It's just a minor deformity, happens in humans too. I shouldn't worry too much about it, as long as it doesn't effect her quality of life :) x

Thanks. My daughter loves her even more as she says she is looking after a disabled guinea pig! Vet checked her over when first got and never said anything. ... may take her in when her ringworm gone to check as thinking I best check shes not suffering....

I have seen rescued guinea pigs before that have missing/no toes -whether because of inbreeding or because of some type of trauma/nibbling whilst a baby we have no way of knowing. Doesn't seem to affect them at all. Most recent piggy I can think of was one of the Muppet brothers who I fostered during quarantine - he had two stumps (i.e. no toes) but it didn't stop him popcorning like a loon (oops muppet !) He and his brother now have the most fantastic home with a forum member on here.
x

Thank you for your support. My only concern is the curve in the foot. But sure its ok. Can't seem to put pics on. X

Hi, I am so very happy at such great concern for the welfare of a guinea pig. You're doing an excellent job. That piggy looks fine. And what a cute little pigger! LOL
