I just wondered what your piggys thought of the snuggle safes as I'm not sure and neither are my piggys! My piggys are currently outside and I'm considering keeping them out all winter.

I heated my new one up in the microwave and I was surprised at how unwarm it was! I did heat it up for the requested time bit it just didn't seem to get hot enough, however for some extra comfort and safety so they didn't get burnt and then put lots of hay on top of it and then placed this inside their seagrass house in the bedroom side of their hutch and left them to have a warm nights sleep snuggled up on their pad.

So I came out this morning to take the snuggle safe out ready to be reused tonight and much to my dismay they had somehow managed to move the snuggle safe from a flat horizontal position to an upright vertical position completely out of their seagrass snuggle house and pushed it up against the side of their hutch. I did laugh to myself as I thought I'd invested in a £22 product they'd love, but clearly it seems to be an overheated piece of plastic that must be quite unhappy to sleep on.

So just wondered whether your piggys love or hate their snuggle safes and any alternative ways it could be made more palatable

Mine love them, there is always a bum fight as to who gets on top of it! But mine do have fleece covers as it's not safe to put the straight in without cover. I put 3 in the microwave for 9 mins and turn half way through as the bottom one gets more hot than the others. For a single one you probably need 4 mins. I found I had to adjust the times to get the desired effect.

If they aren't sleeping on top then they lay next to it when they want to share!

It might be too warm for them yet & they were too uncomfortable with the heat. Maybe try again when it's due for a ground frost & they may appreciate it more.

Mine love them!

I paid £11 for it from Amazon last winter. I heat it up for 6 minutes (I think) and it stays warm all night

I sometimes put a snugglesafe in Ivy and Flora's cage- unfortunately I've only got the one at the moment, so it's a case of who gets there first, but they love to lie on it and go to sleep. Ivy found it very comforting to have when she was recovering from a couple of health problems earlier this year.

I’ve got two snuggle safes that i got of eBay for about £10 for the both, but i must admit i’ve never used them as all my piggies live inside and theres always heating on in the house and as they are in our bedroom if the room was too cold we’d know, maybe i’ll get round to using them at some point this year but they feel so hard i wonder how they can be cosy!
