Okay, coming up to winter and the bunnies are in need of some heat.

However we are having a slight problem at the moment, we have been looking into the snugglesafe heat pads. The cheapest I have found is about £14 and we need 3. So we are looking around £40 in total.

Has anyone found these a bit cheaper? Or does anyone have any other options to give them heat?

Unfortuntely due to us having to move in with my mama for family reasons a shed is not possible and they cannot be moved inside :( so we are trying to do all we can to keep them warm throughout the winter!

So if anyone has other heating options, it would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou!

I think that that is as cheap as you can get snugglesafes and that any other warming solutions don't come any cheaper (or safer). You can give your piggies additionally cardboard boxes filled with soft hay to snuggle into for additional warmth.

Have you tried eBay for used/unwanted ones? You may find them a bit cheaper but I think £14 is quite a good price.

£14 is good if you only need one. But when you need 3 it adds up haha.

Due to our family issues we are struggling for money. My mum cares for my mama and grandad so can't work to earn money and I've just finished school and in the hard process of looking for work to help out. So getting enough for 3 is pretty difficult haha!

I'll keep an eye out for some used or unwanted ones! If anyone comes across any, if you could let me know, that would be lovely!

I just make sure I really top up their bedding last thing as night in the hutch as they always stamp it down during the day.

Put upturned cardboard boxes over their bedding area as this will help retain heat too - you could still just use one pad as if one piggie is sat on it nice and toasty the other piggies will hopefully just all cuddle up with that one anyway - they will be toasty.

Also, I noticed that the opening from main area to bedroom is really tall in big hutches (probably to accommodate a rabbit) so you could also reduce the height and width of the opening and perhaps place a chew tube there for them to get in and out, and that way you will really cut down the draughts. :)

I've just noticed I've put this in 'guinea pig chat' and I meant to put it into 'general chat'

I'm actually talking about my rabbits here! My piggies live inside!

Doh! sorry - should have checked that! So don't be making the opening any smaller then!

It's silly me accidently posting in the wrong thread! I often get those to a bit confused with them both saying 'chat' haha

It was 1 in the morning when I made this thread, I was tired;)
