:0:0:0 my babies have to go, we just cant afford them,my husband works 2 jobs just to keep us afloat,and we are still up the creek without a paddle! i have never let one of my pets go without the treatment they need at a vets,no matter how trivial the issue, yet due to the sheer price of life we just cant take her in for her poorly skin :0 i am such a bad owner! so i have had to make the heart braking decision to rehome all 4 of them. if they dont go soon though i have no idea what i can do! i really dont want to resort to advertising them on freeads type sites free to good home everything included etc incase they go to a person who also cant take proper care of them. i feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. all of our bills have risen so much in the past 2 months we cant keep up!

I'm sorry to hear this Kel. Everything is going up lately. I wish I could help but I have 13 now having just taken in 3 sows I just can't take anymore this is my absolute limit unless its rescue pigs for Graham and Helen.

its very hard, I'm hoping that by letting them go with their whole set up and extra run it may sway someone who has a spare corner of their garden available to squeeze them in, though i should think most people are having the same problems as we are at the moment with bills etc and are unable to take in any more due to costs. its heart breaking. just been sat out with them now (and gained a lovely rash up one arm in the process) and I'm sure they know :0

I am so sorry to hear that your having to give up your piggies - I know it couldn't have been an easy decision. But you have the best interests for the piggies in mind.

It is really hard just now with the price of everything going up - I know my girls are living on the cheapest vegetables I can find (and that last the longest).

I know what you mean about the prices of everything though, my moneys alot better since i rehomed the bunnys i had given to me, Its not just food either though is it, its all the rest of it sawdust, bedding toys, and you want the best for them.

I get all my Veg from the market cos its oh so cheap lol! x

ye this is one of the most difficult things i have ever had to do, bu tif i keep them they wont be cleaned out as often as needed as i cant afford the bedding,i will have to put them on cheap food and they wont get their veggies still,not to mention not being able to take maisey to the vets. i live in lincolnshire,just outside gainsborough,but we can deliver them to a new home as long as its not too far,yet again because we cant afford the petrol for the car!

You could try finding your nearest guinea pig rescue to surrender them to if you have no luck on here
I am so sorry you have had to make this decision but you are doing what is best for them....the rising cost of living is affecting so many of us, I know my food bills alone have risen by at least 30% so you know you are not alone.

my first port of call was cosy cavies, our only guinea pig rescue listed anywhere,and when i rang them they were closed down now I'm hoping lindsay7 can take them on for me as a foster place if i can get them and their hutch to her soon, if her OH agrees that is, I'm awaiting her response to my pm and we can go from there. if not the rspca in s****horpe said they have space at the moment, i just dont know if i want to hand them over just incase they end up with owners who dont know everything they need to know
