I made a big mistake, long story short-my guinea pigs had access to 4 feet of yarn, and it looks like one or both ate it. Rushing them to vet ensues... Did X rays, vet said that it looks like my Franny probably ate it because her stomach contents looks bigger than myrtles. I was told to feed frequently and keep water intake up and hope for the best, hope she chewed it... What do you guys think the likelihood of her chewing it into small tiny pieces is? Should I be doing anything else to make sure that this passes? I feel absolutely horrible that I put her in this situation. She is still a baby- only eight months old. Does anyone have ideas or dealt with anything similar?

I think you have done all you can, just keep an eye on her poo output and take her back to the vet if the poos stop. Hopefully the vet has ruled out a blockage. Keep up the fluids like the vet has said. Don't beat yourself up, I have seen this sort of thing happen lots of times.

Fingers crossed it all comes through fine! Mistakes happen, you've done the best thing by getting them straight to the vet :)

We have all made mistakes, don't beat yourself up.You have done everything you can to ensure she is ok.Some would have just crossed their fingers and hoped for the best.Huge hugs

You really shouldn't feel too bad accidents happen. My sister once had to rush her rabbit to the vets because it had eaten part of a bin liner, it was absolutely fine. No ill effects.

Piggies are very good at digesting fibre, so hopefully all will end up well. My Minx pulled a similar one on me, and thankfully there were no problems during a rather anxious day. You are doing all you can reasonably do.
