I am very gutted to have lost my current Boss Boar of the Tribe Alan (nickname Dally) at just around 3 years of age in the prime of his life.
Alan suddenly went off his food over the weekend and then took an unexpected turn for the worst on Monday night. He passed away in the early hours of the morning.

I adopted Alan in October 2019 from Neville's Nest Guinea Pig Rescue in Leicester as a companion with my very fear-aggressive 'challenge' piggy Brathlys 'Scarlet Pimpernel' from Gerties'Lonely Guinea Pig Rescue in Newcastle (she who promptly changed her coat colour from bright orange to dark brown). He thankfully had the patience to stick out a very slow bonding process and had the nous to never push it too far.
They have been a closely bonded couple since then. Brathlys (Lissie) has been plastered to his side in his last days.

Dally was a friendly chap, who enjoyed a quick pet, his rumble-strutting 'boar hakas' with the other boys through the bars, a flirt with neighbouring sows, grass time and the good life... Although not so much long photo shoots even though he made good subject for the odd Tribe meme!

We have buried him in the large cavy planter next to Hirael with a rose for this romance with Lissie, potentilla (the Latin name means 'little power') for being the reigning Boss of the Tribe husboars, bee magnet buddleia x weyeriana for his charm and great looks plus some daisy-like asters from our garden.

So long, Alan! Have fun rumble-strutting with the other Tribe boys at the Bridge!
