So Many Piggies Have Left Us Recently...

So many piggies have left us recently. Many of my friends both on and off the forum have lost piggies in the last 6 weeks. This poem is beautiful and makes me cry so much but the sentiment is beautiful.

Here it is in memory of all those who have left us recently :

Charlie, Punky, Suilven, Amelia, Olivia, Pink, Megan, Rosie, Esme, Bethan, Darklis, Popsicle, Caramel, Rosa and many others.


If it should be that I grow weak
and pain should keep me from my sleep.
Then you must do what must be done,
for this battle can't be won.
You will be sad, I understand.
Don't let your grief then stay your hand,
for this day more than the rest,
your love for me will stand the test.
We had so many happy years,
What is to come should hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so,
the time has come to let me go.
Take me where my need they'll tend
please stay with me until the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time that you will see
the kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail it's last has waved,
from pain and suffering I've been saved.
Don't be sad it must be you
who has this painful thing to do.
We've been so close we two these years,

Wow... this has made me tear up. My guinea pig has been battling an illness and he was starting to get better and has gone down again. I'm really scared I'm going to lose him. If I do... I'm going to write this poem down and put it with his ashes... I really hope he doesn't pass.

RIP all piggies who have recently passed. x

@Julesie sorry to hear this Try not to think of the worst, they are strong little things and you are a excellent piggie mum. Hope your little one starts to turn the corner soon x

Thank you so much. I'm trying hard at the moment to fight for him. I found out the possible problem with Helens help with what may be wrong. I thought he was getting pain medication but he wasn't and the stuff I thought was pain meds was something else so I'm rushing to the vet or store tomorrow to get him some pain relief.
The good news is I just weighed him and he's put on 20g

Thank you Klee. Feeding him critical care at the moment. He's still eating but I just want to help him along and gain weight back. He's fighting tooth and nail against the syringe feeds and medicine though.

That is a beautiful poem. We have lost a lot of piggies here recently

Our local pub has that poem on the wall in memory of the pub dog who was a gorgeous Irish Wolfhound, he "owned" the pub and just went where he pleased, mooching crisps off everyone. I cry every time I read it.
