Ok, we have kind of a... I wouldn't call it problem, but sometimes disturbing behavior.

Chip is a taste-everything-once kind a dude. Since the first day we got him home he licked our hands to see who we are, if we have a treat etc. Not just taste: he's like a washer machine! Pretty normal behavior in a piggy besides the part when the humans get very wet.

Now this behavior has become very... well, his in my face like all the time. It's like having a small Labrador. Sometimes it's just a little lick, other times he goes like maniac. It doesn't matter if I'm using a face cream or not and sometimes it's my nose, sometimes it's my ear. I tried to "give him" my hand instead but he just licks my hand for treats, my face is something else.

If it is affection it's very cute, yes. But Chip needs to realize I HAVE a man 😅
I've always been told you can't push a dog that wants to lick your face away. They show affection. You have to give them something else. So, should I do the same with my very small pigdog? Is it affection or is he just trying to eat me?

H's cage friend is a licker to. But we can tell when he licks hands or noses for food/play and when he licks a hand or nose for affection.

Lulu can't hold her licker either. I bounce back and forth bt sign of affection and she's trying to lick me to death.

You are a very lucky owner to be licked with such affection 😆
The little dude loves to munch celery. He stinks 😢😅

I had a piggy when I was a kid who was a face licker. He didn't really like people very mutch at all, so I'm pretty sure he did it out of affection. He loved me and grandpa, accepted my dad and scared the sh*t out of my sister and grandma. He did the kissing it in a very sweet way.

Chip just crawls up to my face, and put his paws wherever so he can lick my nose. It's sweet in a odd kind of way...

The little caramel&chocolate-nose. I really can't start making fun of his hair yet, becuse his "brother" was looking like a fluffy pig until like five months old. Now he's like a hairy scary snowman. There's hope for Chips little crest!

Today the Labradors cagemate started to grunt like a little pig when he wants food 😅
And I worked so hard to convince my hubby that GPs are such a great animals. What do we get? A pigdog and a pigpig!

My pig Little is a massive licker. He’d lick me forever if he could. It’s funny but he’ll only lick me, not my mum. We do funny little tests of putting her finger in front of him and then mine - he won’t lick her but he’ll lick mine without a single hesitation. He’s blind in both eyes and we don’t put the finger to his mouth, just in front of him, so it’s strange how he *knows* it’s my finger in front of him as there’s not a single hesitation in it. He does the same with my nose too, it’s the weirdest thing. I don’t know how he clocks it’s me, but he does. He’s a massive MASSIVE softie though, he’d also sit and have a cuddle with me forever if he could. He has a specific spot in the nook of my arm he likes to lay and that’s it, he’s dead to the world for about two hours usually before I decide it’s time he goes back in his cage. He also is missing his bottom two incisors so you can really just see his tongue flapping away as he licks you. He’s an absolute darling, I don’t know what I’ll do when he eventually passes on. Guinea pigs which are big softies are hard to find since they’re prey animals, don’t take it for granted!

@Little Ones that's so sweet! It must be the smell he just knows belongs to you?
They really are softies, most of them. Even the ones that's not very cuddly. The pigdogs friend Pikachu doesn't have time to cuddle very often. His busy with being energic. But he loves company and comes running on the floor and want to take walks together or chill together with a book (me reading, he's eating it or snoozing under my legs).

Not the best pic, but it's hard to take photos of these two... Like one second earlier pigpig was on the upper deck with pigdog. Chip was around 8 weeks and Pika 5 months
