8...think i am very unlucky at the moment, thank god i have a vet appointment today. my new guinea pig spiker left eye is completely closed and the skin area around it was pink now its looking black. think this is not my week, his eye was ok when i got him.

Best of luck with poor Spiker!

I am sorry that things are so rough for you!

I have a pig who has one eye and his eye isnt sewn up yet so i have to salt water it every 2 days or it sticks together, just get some warm water and put the salt in, stir it with a spoon to dissolve then get a cotton ball and dab the sal****er on the eye a few times,
Its a temporary fix until you get to the vet and it will sterilise anything that might be in there, salt water can never hurt;)
goodluck

Oh dear, it is all happening at the moment!

How did the vet appointment go?

it went ok, the vets given me some fucithalmic vet to put in his eyes. hmmm trying to get him to like me and now i have to put stuff in his eyes this will go well.

Remember, you are bigger than him. Gentle, but firm.

Easier said than done, especially when he's wriggly which does make things more tricky, but the principle of you being bigger and stronger than him still counts!

Have you got anyone who can hold him for you while you administer the drops, if it comes down to it?

yeah,i have been holding them down while my boyf administers the medication, spiker with his eye drops, lisa with her antibiotics, hope maggy is not feeling left out.
