Adult Guinea Pig
Brief background... I adopted my guinea pigs about three months ago from a lady who was struggling with the amount of pets she had. She was a very good owner and they came to me happy and healthy (she has an open invitation to visit them any time she wants at my house).
The only little thing which has been worrying me about their behaviour is a bit of nibbling - as discussed in previous thread.
To begin with I let it go as a sign that perhaps the upheaval was more of a stress than they were letting on.
But a few weeks ago I decided I wanted to deal with it.
As I only ever speak softly or sing to the boyz, a stiff "no" was enough to stop a nibble dead in its tracks. Freddie immediately replaced nibbles with licking and has done ever since but Marmalade dug his heels in...
Until Friday that is, when for the first time he bent down and started licking my hand during cuddle time.
I'm so proud of him.
He's such a vulnerable little piggie... pretends to be so tough but really needs a lot of affection.
