after tonights bath episode..I am so proud of my lil guys. they truly are lil troopers.
I had to plaster them down with some oily anti parasitic treatment. Wait five mins...rinse off really well..then lather them with anti fungal, and anti- bacterial (just in case we are dealing with that instead of a parasite)
shampoo and let it sit for five mins, then rinse that really well..then give them a good dry..and then treat thier ears for ear mites, and clean them out really well..then we had a toenail trim .
They were jsut fine with everything EXCEPT the water part...but eventually smores stopped trying to git away and just sat in my hand...and let me finish rinsing the first off...while the second sat..he busied himself with eating cucumber and apple slice from my hand (so no shampoo got on it)..and then when it was all over ..he forgave me for a big leaf of baby spinach. According to him..spinage makes it all better mom.
Then...choco.. after the inital squakantrum....he decided that water and scrubbing (not really scrubbing..just a rub down) actually kinda felt good. he proceeded to sit on his no slip in the sink towel...and faced me and put his front paws in my left hand, while I rubbed him with my right hand..he was content to get rubbed all over..and didnt so much as peep, so long as I let his front paws stay in my hand (kinda like a toddler..ok mum I'll let the doctor poke on me..long as you hold my hand..lol). he even tilted his head so I could get behind his ears better.
Then while the five min sit time was going...he happily munched his apple out of my hand..and then green pepper. When it was all over he got his toweling
..he actually went to sleep. Although he woke up for spinach (good boy treat).
considering this is only thier second bath...i think they did VERY GOOD and I was so proud..
The ear and toenails..um...not so much. we had OMG YOUR KILLING ME squealing going on...lol..but we got it done.
Probably shouldve not done it all in one go...but oh well..its done now.
did a major disinfect of thier cage. ...a linen change...and we have happy, clean, pawdicured, sqeaky clean eared...piggys.
They got rewarded with fresh hay with goodies in it, and a treat of bannana (so far thier favorite goodie).
so...there. I've bragged on my boys..and now I"m going to treat myself to a well deserved good night sleep.
Really hoping this does the trick and we have bug free, healthy piggies, as well as happy ones.
