poshpiggies

I keep my piggies in a wooden shed/playhouse with a large enclosed run that is netted unless I'm outside with them, they are put in their house at night and the door is shut.
Someone has come in and taken these 3 little babies so poor peggy has none left, they were only 2 weeks old:0
The door had been left open and everything else was as it was other than the babies gone.

have you checked everywhere in your garden, let mum have a sniff to try and find them?if theyve not run off then its going to probably be one of your neighbours who have seen them from the window or looking over!!

when i put them to bed they are all head counted and checked, the door is then shut and secured with no way out, when i went down the door had been opened and they were gone, i have looked everywhere and if they arnt with Peggy then Fuzzy wont leave their side.:(

I would make absolutely sure, they haven't ran out, I know you said your door was shut correctly but maybe it wasn't, like sarah said let mum have a sniff! I do hope you find them!

Oh no I am so sorry. Fingers crossed for a miracle!

Oh that is terrible!and they are such gorgeous babies, poor mummy piggy will be very confused bless her and BIG BIG Hugs to you! Had you advertised them/let anyone you dont know well who knows where you live know about them? I would check sites like gumtree/adtrader/etc etc

Fingers crossed they find their way home!

OH MY that's horrible.

What a nasty thing to do taking babies from mummy. Such sweet little ones too.

Do you have any suspicions?

well if I'm honest the lady at the end of my garden had some pikeys cutting her trees just the day before and the young lad was on top of her garage roof eyeing up the gardens round here but i would hate to accuse them if they are innocent.

could you phone up local paper get an ad in there saying how theyll die without mum(they wont but just lay it on thick to make people feel guilty) and how mum is sad

That's awful, I am sorry this has happened. Best of luck for trying to find out what's happened to them. It sounds like a targeted thing, have you told anyone locally that you have baby piggies? It is very odd if someone randomly broke in and only took the babies, none of the others.

all the kids round here know i have them as they come in to play with my kids and as they are free range to a degree anyone coming in the back garden (all deliveries come in the back way) will see them.

What a terrible thing to happen.
I would get in touch with the police, local vets, rescue centre's and the local papers just in case someone has taken them to the vets or took them to the local centre.

Fingers crossed you get them back safely x

i have had all the girls out loose (supervised) in the garden today (its very secure so they cant get out unaided) and nothing, no little ones running back to mommy so they have definately gone from the garden, i have asked all the local kids and nobody knows anything however i have had this bloody cat in my garden for a few days now and I'm wondering if it had the strength to open the door and take them.
Taking the babies would have been easier than taking the adults for it.

Just catching up with this thread.

I still hope that those lovely pups will turn up again and am so sorry for you!

You may have to think about padlocks for your hutches. Better safe than sorry.

BIG HUG

I can't believe it. That's just horrible. Those poor babies...And poor you and mum! You must be so worried!

I'd do what the others have suggested. Putting an ad in the paper, just spreading the word would be good, too.
You never know, if all these kids are about, if someone elses parent or someone had taken them, the other kids will spot them at some point, I'm sure.
You really need to go all out and spread posters and all sorts around! Make this person feel terrible, really lay it on thick. You need to say that mum is doing terribly without them and that the babies won't live very long without their mother.
Hopefully, if you really lay it on, someone will come up with something or they'll return them.

Taking babies away from their mother...It's just sick.

The cat thing sounds worrying but what kind of door is it? If it's a bolted one, then I doubt a cat would be strong enough to get in.

was checking back and hoping for better news do you think they might have been sold to a local pet shop?

Have only just seen your thread, I can't believe someone may have taken the babies, people of beyond belief. Sending hugs.

they havnt turned up and i have heard nothing, i have asked around but still nothing, i have a fair bit to do with all the vets round here because of the rescue work i do so if they hear anything they know where to come but if I'm honest i think i have heard the last of them.

I REALLY recommend the local paper sweetheart, even if you never get them back, the person will hopefully see it and know that they didn't get off likely and anyone who knows of someone recently getting 3 new guineas in the area might show a bit of surspicion. Also get a lock for that hutch! xxxxxx i'm sorry, I would feel so helpless, I hope a miricle brings them back... if you have photos, you could make notices? Give the photo to the newspaper then someone may deffo of seen them

I just caught up with this, your poor piggie mum and I do hope those babies are alright, wherever they are. I too think an ad in the paper might jog someone's consience, they can't have gone all that far. Perhaps telling the local schools would be a good idea too, children talk to each other and if a family has just 'found' three baby piggies then a child will happily tell their friends. Best of luck.
