I've copied a you tube film, about Pet Smart. It is from a Peta source This isn't nice to see but if it stops ONE person from buying from pet Smart. I hope all the lost animals are free now & are playing over the rainbow bridge. God Bless Them

When we went for a holiday to Las Vegas 2 yrs ago and went to PetSmart, hubby and I saw how small their cage for guinea pigs are. It was 4 or 5 guinea pigs in a glass display that I think was supposed to be for smaller animals. We went there to look for something we can buy for our piggies but after seeing those animals, we left the store right away. I felt so awful for them and I refuse to go back to their petstore again.

I know we have petstores like these in the UK but in my opinion the PetsAtHome stores I've been to are a lot better than that PetSmart I've seen. The PetsAtHome I've been to atleast have their own Vets4Pets inside the shop (Rhyl, Llandudno, Aintree, Liverpool and Wrexham). One time that we saw a guinea pig having breathing difficulties, we informed the staff and they sent it straight to their vet. We don't know what happened to it but hopefully their vet there had looked at it and gave some treatments.

That is terrible! We got ours from Petland in the US, which continues to keep the males and females in the same cage, which is why I ended up with a pregnant one. I’m scared to even look into anything else about them. Unfortunately, the closest rescue is about 300 miles away from here.

I don't know what they can do in the USA, accept complain again & again. You can get PETA address, email or telephone no if they are all like this, you can get them run out of business. They would throw the book at pet shops if it was the same here.

I would say contact the humane society rather than PETA especially in the USA given how PETA treat dogs

Unfortunately it's because people keep supporting them and no one cares about animal welfare :(

That's terrible. Poor things. The scary thing is that, where I am, PetSmart tends to be one of the BETTER pet stores (actually one of the only chains left standing after others have closed down following stricter rules about selling puppies and kittens- something PetSmart here has never done.) Then again, I'm in Canada rather than the US and my understanding is that our laws are slightly stricter (though still significantly behind most of Europe) as far as animal welfare goes.
