ive made multiple threads about my little Rupert now and we booked him a vet appointment at a vets that someone on here recommended, it was a 50 min drive but it was worth it. Rather than just giving us more antibiotics in the hope it would work, they tested him for all sorts of things and sent us home with no antibiotics Or anything as they didn’t see it working. Instead they sent us home with a huge decision. They think that, sadly, whatever it is, it is untreatable with basic meds unless we are willing to pay £3500 for a MRI scan. They say it is most likely neurological but could also be a fault in his inner ear. Even with our vet fund and insurance, we arent going to be able to pay for that MRI scan. We don’t want to completely empty the vet fund as we have other pets and piggies that may need attention. The vet suggested separating him from his partner and keeping him on his own for a bit as they’re still in the bonding process (having only been in together for a week) so some behaviour is still very territorial and he is incredibly unsteady on his feet so he could get hurt etc. We’ve had him on his own for a day and a bit now and we have seen a slight improvement in the head tilt and the crust in his eye is no where near as bad, but he keeps chewing the bars on his cage. We are getting him a bigger cage tomorrow but at the minute, we have in in a 80 Ferplast cage as it’s the only one we could pick up as we don’t have a c&c for him to go in. He keeps chewing the bars and I feel bad for keeping him in there but until we know what’s wrong with him, it’s for the best, right?

I think you made the right choice, especially as they weren't fully bonded anyways :)
It'll be easier to monitor his eating/drinking and pooing/weeing with him on his own, and you can always begin the introduction against once he's improved a bit/is managing a bit better with his balance etc!
Just a thought - has he been wormed? Xx

Yes he has been, they did it at the vet as we’ve had a piggie with worms in the sat so now we are extra cautious to get them all treated x
