So yesterday we got a call from the head vet..... He has a problem and we are (hopefully) his solution!

A little boar had been dumped at the surgery! Just a box on the steps when they opened up in the morning!

Very little, looks about 8 weeks old with a little scab on his nose :-(

He has been checked for fungal issues and ruled that out, so it looks like he's been neglected and beaten on either by a bigger piggy or another animal :-(

As we are - in his words - crazy piggy ladies, he thought of us as a new home for the little mite! Bonus being, he will neuter him gratis when he is big enough!

So introducing Theodore! A mere 271g!
He is scoffing dry food and hay, not sure about veggies at the moment, but he liked spinach earlier, bless him!

He is lovely and as the vet obviously knows has landed on his feet after a shaky start. He is going to have a great life with you two.

aww poor little boy... glad he has found a good home with you x

He is gorgeous. Poor little man with such a bad start. Now at least he has someone to care for him and some piggy friends.

We are completely in love with him! We think he is a teddy, as his coat is far too soft to be a rex, like a little pompom!
We have him next to Lettie, who is convinced he is her child, and we have let him have floor time with her - making sure there is no humpy humpy of course! - as she is bringing him out of himself :-)

He screams blue murder when we pick him up, and then snuggles down on our chests to have cuddles!
I wonder if he was dumped because the breeder thought he was fungal and would cost them money? Poor little sausage!

I'm hoping he will be a nice friend for Lettie, as the 2 big girls batter her and she is on her own. Either way, she is loving licking him through the bars! Silly girl! x

Omg he is absolutely gorgeous! How could anyone dump him? At least they dumped him in the right place.

That lucky little lad has falen on his feet , sorry to put a damper on things
But you Vet is not nutering him yet is he ?
Hi isTo young and far to light , an opp might kill him

Theodore is lush  love his colouring. Well done for giving him a home

Neutering needs to be done at six months. Four months is the earliest and only if they are a good weight, it is good of your vet to offer to do him free once he is old enough :) I wouldn't risk run time with Lettie until he is done it literally takes a second, even keeping in c&c's next to each other is a risk as boys when the hormones kick in have been know to jump to get to females.

Not trying to rain on your parade, just want to see it going smoothly for you. You are both wonderful piggie parents x

Cannot wait to see more of this little grey boy and hear how his pigsonality develops

Thanks for the love guys :-)
@gizzy & @sport_billy - we definitely aren't having him done yet :-) he is far too tiny bless his little cotton socks!

We have put a stop to floor time with Lettie - she battered him roundly this morning for daring to look in her direction! She has also been snarling at him through the bars of their pens, so her cage is now on top of his! Naughty Madam Lettuce!

He is currently hiding in his snuggle den, wondering what on earth life is throwing at him!
He has obviously not had veggies, as he wont touch anything other than half a leaf of spinach or a little soft lettuce, but he is nibbling pellets and drinking well so I'm not too concerned. I'll weigh him in a sec and see how he's doing :-)

x

*just to add, he definitely hasn't covered her, we have literally been hanging over the side of the playpen to supervise!*

Little update - teeny man Theo has put 90g on in 24hrs and now weighs in at 280g :D very pleased!
He's very very shy and spends most of the time in his cosy, but seems to be quite happy in himself x
