Hi
My pinky hasn’t been quite himself today, hiding away a little more than usual (except for dinner time)! He’s still been eating plenty. I noticed on his cosy that he’s been sitting on a lot of the day some nasty brown wee... it has dried but I noticed this morning even a fresh wee had a strong orange tinge to it. I haven’t noticed any squealing when he wees, and he hasn’t eaten anything red. Does this sound like a uti? Got a picture of the grotty cosy as well:5E87C55B-AD41-41BA-B4C8-B9D34E6B95EC.webpI made an appointment at the vets but it’s not until Wednesday next week, as the lady I like to see isn’t there before then.

As I understand, if he was weeing blood, when it dried there would be a noticeable ring of reddish-brown at the spot where he wee'd as it dries quicker than the rest of the urine. My light coloured fleece tunnel has patches of staining almost as dark as in your picture sometimes. That's not to say he definitely doesn't have a uti, just that the colour of his wee there doesn't show it. Is he drinking as much as normal? I noticed when one of mine had a bladder problem, as well as squeaky wees he was hardly drinking. Hope this helps?

Thanks for your reply. He’s actually the pig that drinks the most! I started filtering their water a couple of weeks ago, but maybe because of that it tastes different and he may not be drinking as much? I’m not sure. His wee was a bit gritty this morning as well so I think there’s something going on. I’ve got some oxbow urinary support tablets and hopefully this will help until the vets Wednesday. I’m just worried as the wee has never been this dark before.
