he is gorgeous, I have a lilac called Maisy that I rehomed, the colour is lovely

i would report him to sounds like a very nasty man. well done you though for rescuing him. x

Well done for saving him from this awful family, what a shame for all the others left behind. Why do people keep them if they can't be bothered with them.:a19:

Thanks everyone. Unfortunatly I'm going to have to start Dudley on the critical care. He hasnt eaten anything. I will syringe him water aswel. His been in the cage all night and day and not one wee. only 4 poos. this cant be right. I have him out now and his just staring into space. When you pick him up he just flops. Its like a lifeless piggy with a heartbeat. everyone have your fingers crossed for him please. Please let him be ok. :( I will keep you all updated. Good idea about the vetbed. ill put some profleecce down today.
Does anyone think its to early for critical care? I'm so scared as you can feel all his bones when you pick him up, its awful!

Oh no, he can't come this far and then give up!

Sending eating and poohing vibes x

Aww Chez, I have only caught up with this thread and I am in shock. What a sad story :0 He reminds me so much of my Eliza and a bit like my Eleanor. Well done for taking him away from this horrid man. Me and my girls are sending lots of healing vibes his way. I think a vet visit asap may be in order xx

Weightloss and fewer poops than what is normal is as good a reason as any to start force feeding. Try to get him to the vet as soon as possible too.

If your vet is good with piggies I would take him. They may be able to get fluid into him. He could be very traumatised or there could be an underlying condition you are unaware of...poor little man :( I would syringe feed him, water too.

Best of luck. If he is dehydrated then add a tiny bit of salt and sugar to the water - it helps the animal to retain the water given and gives them energy.

I do hope he'll be alright, fingers crossed.

Ive given him lots of critical care and he took it like a good boy! i gave him water but he didnt want to take it. Ive cut his nails, put profleece down and also put cream on his little feet. I will give him more critical care tonight and get up before work to do the same. I'm so worried about him. I dont have a vet here thats any good with guinea pigs. if he doesnt improve i will go to the CCT. x

So glad to hear that Dudley's taking the critical care. Hopefully he'll start to come round, poor thing must be in shock suddenly finding some love and affection when he's never had any before. He looks an absolute sweetie x) - here's hoping he's on the road to full recovery....

Good luck to you and dudley hope it all goes well. At least you are managing to get the critical care down him so he has something to keep him going. Sending good vibes his way x

How's he been for the past hour or so Chez? That's encouraging that he took the Critical Care, have you tried syringed a few drops of water between mouthfuls of food? I find that's the easiest way to syringe water to a reluctant piggie.

Hope he has picked up. Let me know if you're coming by the CCT. x

Bless him he is gorgeous. Hope he picks up soon. Wondering if he needs a Vitamin C supplement when Murphy came to me and was ill he needed CC and a supplement he picked up so quick when i gave him the Vitamins, as he had gone off his back legs scared me silly but as fast as he went down hill he came back up with the Vit C.

Sending you both big hugsx)

Ive only just read the whole thread - firstly well done for getting Dudley out from that nasty man.

I really hope the little lad starts eating soon and things improve.

I dont know of any guinea pig vets round here - CCT/Vedra would be the best option if needed?

If there is anything I can do to help? I work in Stourbridge but dont drive I'm afraid.

There have been some awful cases in the Midlands recently of animal neglect/cruelty I gets me so angry/upset:(

I really hope he has 'got bored' of the guineas now and they can all get out of there?

His eaten some brocilli that i left him. I tried some more critical care but he just left it in his mouth and spat it out so no luck there. i had a good look round him and his covered in bites. I think its from the rabbits he was kept with. One has turned to a lump so I'm taking him the vets tomorrow. i want to get some fluids down him at the vets and get something for his bites and sore feet. Ive been trying to give him water with probiotics in but his having non of it. ive left him with more brocilli now for the night. I hope he will take more food off me tomorrow morning. Just hope the vets open after i get home from work. x

Keeping my fingers crossed for the little lad!
Has he eaten his food?

Good luck Dudley! Will be thinking of you and your mummy today. x

That guy sounds like a right flaming eejit (sorry, would love to swear there).

Well done you for saving that little guy. I would definitely report it to the RSCPA if I were you - what a shocking way for animals to live.

Any news yet? Sounds like the bite with a lump has turned into an abscess, poor little guy.

Well my dad took him the vets for me today and shes given him a good check over. his underweight but shes said his not as bad as he looks (not sure how that works but ok). The bites are from the rabbits but there clean so shes happy to leave them as they are. Keep giving him critical care like I'm doing and just give him time to settle. she said apart from those problems he looks ok with his teeth etc. She said his the best looking guinea pig shes seen. Ive checked him again now I'm back from work, not eaten any food **** so will get the critical care down him soon. I'm glad the vet didnt find anything bad i just hope he starts to eat more. thanks every one for your support x

Thats good news at least! maybe his not eating is because he is scared or sore somewhere. Perhaps a little metacam for a few days wouldn't go amiss? what about the lump you found, what was that?
