Correx - the reality
I live in Switzerland, and correx is impossibly expensive and hard to get here.
My C&C's are lined with a hideous mess of correx pieces held together with duct tape - it works (ish), but there are gaps, and is isn't pretty.

Correx -the dilema
I like my boss and get on well with him. Amongst other things he is a political candiate in some upcoming elections.
Today I happened to spot his latest campaign posters - they are made of correx!
CORREX.

I am tempted to ask my boss what happens to the campaign posters after the election.
I am tempted to ask my boss if I can have some of the campaign posters after the election.
I know he will say yes, and I also know he will ask why I want them.

I want them to line my guinea pigs cage.
Is this a socially inappropriate thing to tell my boss?

Argh - correx.
As much as I like my boss, is telling him that my guinea pigs will pee on his face too much?

Maybe you could tell him you want them for... a craft table for your kids or something? Depends on your boss, and your job- here in the zoology department we would all be honoured to have cute animals pee on or eat any of our surplus office materials, in fact we steal things all the time just to augment our animal habitats :)

I don’t think it’s unacceptable at all! You could always just ask if you could have them afterwards and when he asks why, he’ll be so relieved you don’t just want to put them around the house and stare at his face that he won’t mind it’s for guinea pigs at all 😂

I have no bones about taking fleece items from lost property at my work (I work at a tourist attraction) and telling my boss it’s for my pigs. There is one currently on my desk (all washed) waiting out it’s two month reclaiming period so I can take it home for my boys!

I would definitely ask him, waste not want not. I think he will be only too happy to give you them after the elections. Go ahead and ask him!

I think it's a great idea to recycle the posters from a political campaign. I'm sure your boss will be pleased that they are being reused / repurposed.

Everyone wants to be green, so you will be helping him do his bit for the environment.😀

Maybe there is a business opportunity there for someone to supply correx with politicians faces on? I usually arrange the newspaper in my playpen so there's some politician or criminal's face in Piggle's favourite pee corner!

So I asked him today, and it was hilarious.
He was initially quite pleased that I wanted one of his campaign posters, so I made sure to tell him I wanted it for a 'craft project'.
Naturally he asked what I planned to make with it.
I told him it was for some houses for my guinea pigs (I didn't mention I will also be using to insulate the rabbit playpen).
He thought about it for a minute and asked if the guinea pigs would eat the houses.
I said they might have the odd nibble, and chances were high they would also pee on them, and at this point he got really excited.
When the elections are over apparently all the candidates are responsible for going out and collecting their posters, so as not to create work for others or have them end up as rubbish.
He said we could collect some from the opposition parties, and I can use them to make my guinea pig toilets and then the guinea pigs can eat them and pee on them all they want.
He suggested we might collect the opposition posters late at night or early in the morning.
He also said if he collects posters for me I have to vote for him.
My boss is a total gangster :D

I do this to, my must be peed on list also includes various annoying stars of stage and screen.

Sounds like a plan @Swissgreys maybe he could donate any extra to an animal rescue and gain himself lots of extra green voter points next time round!

You can promise to keep his face facing away from the piggies... :D

In the early years when grids and correx were much more difficult to get hold of, I got correx offcuts from a local sign shop.
