I love my boys more than life its self, but theyre just not settling in they hide all the time, they have a run area attatched to a bed area and they wont use it..
what can i tempt them out with, we have tried so many yummy treats and they refuse to come out for them:...:...

any ideas guys?
 
It depends how long you have had them, but it does take them quite some time to feel comfertable and come out of their hideys. They are probably out loads when you are not looking.

I find it infuriating with my indoor herd. I put them out in the run when the weather is nice and they just hide all the time, except for the male Yorkie who used to be an outdoor guinea pig and is used to all the outdoor noises and smells.xx

must be about a week now, suppose I'm just wanting them to settle like the rabbits do..
Atom is 8 weeks old and constantly hides under lemmy, but lemmy is growling at him when he does.. how often should i handle them both without upsetting them?
i know pigs are nervy so i dont want to handle them too much but i dont want to hab=ndle them too little rolleyes I'm just a paranoid piggy mummy arent i?:))
 
Not at all, A week is still too soon, my indoor herd are quite a new group and they have been together for about a month and are just beginning to settle in, they still all chatter their teeth at me on cleaning out day though.
I do think you can handle your piggies daily as they are nervous but they do need to get used to you and the more you spend time with them the more they will bget used to you and settle in a bit more. Dont worry if they run away when you try to catch them, all pigs do that and most of them stay that way, no matter how used they are to you (its all about them being prey animals) but perservere and they will soon be sitting on your lap and eating out of your hand. Pigs are all different and have different personalities. Our 2 original indoor pigs were handled regularly and one of them became very tame and ate from our hands, the other always appears nervous and like she does not want to be there at all, you may find the same but just keep at it xx
 
so I'm sat on the bed after cleaning them out with our rescue bunny poppet...
WHEN out comes lemmy happy as larry and stared at me and started treat hunting:)
shortly followed by Attom, drool
i love these boys they did have me worried that they would never settle thankyou Jobo and Bailey <3

ill post pictures of them when they settle a little more it will be easier as they wont be trying to escape:))
