2 of my young pigs are constantly (softly) biting my fingers when I give them their fruits or veggies, or even when I go to pet them. it's nothing of concern, but I'm just curious as to why they like to nibble my fingers! I'm pretty sure they know its not food. But I'm not sure if it means theyre irritated or something either.

They are feeling and working out what is in front of them. there is always a chance fingers turn into food :))

If piggies want to tell you something the nibbles can be sharper... For instance if we have a pig on our lap one of our girls will nibble to tell us she needs the toilet.

My piggie also does this! I am by no means an expert but I would say since they're younger(mine is 3 months) they are trying things out like human babies. My piggie doesn't really like the taste but seems to be exploring more. I honestly think it's rather cute although I try not to encourage it too much so it doesn't become a habit.

I think youre right! my older pig has never ever nibbled me before (only once because she thought it was food) so it's most likely just young, curious little piggies that want to explore.

yes, ive noticed a difference in their bites once or twice when ive take them out. It wasn't hard for me to realized they wanted to go back considering they were chattering at me as well

All my piggies do it if there's food juice on them XD My Bella is a nibbler anyway, I think it's her way of kisses with a little lick too. If they need a wee or poo they pull at my clothes or nip my finger a bit firmly, I'm glad they do as it saves accidents!

Jemima is the only one of mine that does this! I was picking up Pete yesterday and felt her teeth on the pad of my palm... There's nothing that girl won't test for edibility
