Our Scruffy has had a bit of an upset tum since yesterday. I have also seen what looks like mucus in his droppings. Does anyone know what this is? I rememebr reading somewhere that it was not good.. we cut out his veggies yesterday, but then he had trouble doing poops and was also eating his Carefresh bedding which was worrying. He has done lots of poops today, but they look light in colour and squidgy.
We gave him probiotic yesterday - he is drinking and eating as normal, any advice greatly appreciated!

1 Small pellets joined by mucous often indicate dehydration.
2 Mucous and pellets mixed can be indicative of a gut infection.
3 From your description I would suspect a dietary cause. I would leave well alone tonight and review in the morning.

Thanks, he is doing normal-ish ones and then the odd one with a bit of mucus on it. Will keep an eye on him, was so worried last night got up twice to check on him.

Aw thanks, we have reduced his veggies, just not sure what else to do for the best. He is bouncing around and eating his hay, I will give him some water & probiotic before bed time.

No idea but poor baby. Let us know what tomorrow brings.

He's just lapped up a syringe of probiotic (won't have it from the syringe, the only way I can get it into him is to let him lick it up out of my hand!). Fingers crossed his tum settles down.

Aw, thank you, Scruffy seems to be a bit better - he isn't in pain and his poops seem to be slowly getting darker and less mushy! Also haven't seen any more mucus in them. He is still on reduced veggie rations and having tons of hay, but he seems a lot brighter. Sorry for not posting yesterday but had cr4p day at work, cleaned piggies out and was shattered! Am so glad me little Scruff seems better - here he is! He's always been small so we do worry about him more.. Thanks for asking after him! He is very precious to us.

We love all our fluffs, but Katie has a special spot for our Scruff. Thanks for all the replies :)

Katie, sorry, have just seen this - how is Scruffy doing, are his poops normal again?

He's so handsome!
