Soft Poops

Taking antibiotics totally out of the equations because noone is on antibiotics (or any medication of any sort) what else can makes poops soft?

I have one pair of pigs whose poops are soft (not all of them so I suspect it may just be one of the pair). This par have exactly the same diet as the other pair I have (whose poops are ok, maybe a tiny bit soft).

Any ideas?
 
their water goes down slower than the others (they are drinking less)
 
Have they eaten more fresh grass? That really can soften poos. I'm just suggesting in case they went out on the lawn first and got more?
 
Certain foods just don't agree with certain pigs sometimes! Some foods which cause problems for one of mine are broccoli (this is fine in moderation but not lots) spinach, cabbage and lettuce. I'd try removing one food at a time and see if there's any difference in the poops, keep an eye out for any other symptoms that could indicate an illness too, but it's most likely food x

sarah - they haven't been out on the grass at all for a few weeks cos their run is busted.

jnenbnb - they have had a little brocolli recently but the soft poops started way before they had it. they do have spinach, cabbage and lettuce regularly so i'll try cutting out each one one at a time and see what happens.

anyone know of any other foods that can cause soft poops?
 
In my experience grass has actually helped with the poops. I think i'd remove all veggies for a day (they wont be happy but they'll live lol) n then gradually introduce one thing at a time to see what may be causing it. When my pig Ralfie has too much of something he gets weepy eyes and goes a bit introverted and quiet so it may even be one of the foods causing your piggy's other problems x
