Two of my piggies have had quite soft poo's today although this afternoon, have become more 'formed'.
Have cut out any wet veggies since yesterday but am wondering if it could be the pellets. They have a bowl of Wagg Optimum and another of Burgess Excel Blackurrant & Oregano which they like but have only been having for a week or so - cut the Excel out last night too in case it may be that, gave them an extra hay mountain and monitoring them.
Would it be advisable to give them both some probiotic - they are behaving perfectly as normal but would hate to think they have tummy ache or something :(

When soft poo's happen we remove the dry food also and just leave in Hay for a few hours. Are any of the bags of pellets new or have they had any particulary wet veggies?

Nothing different to what they've always had :{ They had a slither of watermelon each on Tuesday evening - only give this around once a week, have cut cucumber, baby tomatoes etc. anything watery. They're both drinking well as usual.
We introduced them to the Excel around 10 days ago and slowly withdrew the Wagg so am thinking is that what may have upset them ? Have put them back onto Wagg just to try and eliminate the reason. Keep checking their poops and most seem to be almost normal atm but the boar does seem a bit quieter than normal as the day goes on so he could be the culprit :( The sow is chin high in hay nomming furiously :)
Would a probiotic help do you think ?/ Have some Fibreplex on our 'first aid' shelf.

Fibreplex in great for soft poos as it also contains fibre. You have already withdrawn the veg...and it is unlikely to be the change in pellets although reverting back to Wagg is a good idea just to rule this out.

Hopefully you should see proper poos over the weekend!

Defo think it's Bruce, the male as he is quieter than normal. Going to deep clean the pen, nice new bedding and give him 1ml of probiotic - feel lots of cuddles on the menu. I worry so much about them getting poorly :...
Poo's are quite firm now but could be his wifey's if he's not feeling too grand, may not be pooing as much - keeping a sharp eye on the little fella, love him sooo much ^)

Oh no...Hope hes ok Trace :...

Let us know how he is later will you x

Thanks Sue, I'll keep you informed. He's such an active and cheeky boy usually, was fine this morning scoffing his food etc. but we nipped out for a couple of hours and since coming home after lunchtime, appears a bit off :(
He had coriander last night for the first time and I was really late getting home from work grrrr so were fed much later than their usual routine - scratching my head ") and hating myself atm :(

Ah dont feel bad, they are very, very well looked after and very much loved. When I die I want to be re-incarnated as one of your piggies! lol

Strange isnt it.....Their digestive system is so quick though so I wouldnt have thought it was something he ate last night...but I could be wrong. :{

I'm sure he will be fine, Rod used to have the odd "soft" day so I just did what youve done and cut out the veg for a bit.

Personally I would cut out all veg, give them limited Wagg pellets, plenty of hay and some fibreplex, if they are no better in 24hours take them to the vet.

Have cleaned them out and given their pen a good wipe down. Bruce wasn't too happy with me giving him the Fibreplex and fussing him, he only has eyes for Sheila, his wife ;) lots of purring and nose to nose when I put him back in with her x) He seems ok, has had some pellets, is drinking and is currently nomming his way out from under the hay :(|) Will leave the veggies out this pm and see how he goes.
Hope the other piggies eat quietly or there could be trouble ahead :)

Hi Hows Brucie doing today?
x

He seems a bit brighter, poo's are a bit more formed so have kept him on reduced veggies again :(. Bought him a nice bag of Meadow Hay on the way home from work to take his mind off the 'green stuff' ;) so he's been quite preoccupied most of the afternoon. Has been flirting with the girlies next door again rolleyes too so must be feeling a bit better, he didn't want to know yesterday :)) They usually pinch bits of his hay and he races over to them and chatters but the girls could have been pouting piggy style last night and he wouldn't have cared less :(|)
Thanks for asking Sue x x>>
