...or at least someone says they will buy it :). I'm talking about the first cage that I built... when I thought I was getting two piggies, that I only used for a month or so.

Sometimes it's good to have a blog :) It's insane how much it's grown... I have had more than 500 unique visitors since the start and each day around 60 computers (it's what google analytics logs) check it out. Amazing. Bo and the girls ate turning into celebrities :))

So someone will pay me about 40 pounds for it which is good for the rescue neutering fund :)

Congrats! And greetings to your celebrities! :(|)

Absolutely fantastic cage. What a shame that my Swedish is not up to reading the blog!

What have you made the black floor of the cage out of? Is it something waterproof? I love the re-use of the bicycle water bottle holder. It looks very secure.

The floor is a plastic carpet (a little like lino) for kitchens and the like. A lot of people here repurpose IKEA Billy bookcases for piggy cages. Just cover the floor with something waterproof and in with bedding and piggies :). The water bottle holder is also very common here. You need to be a little creative when you don't have cage bars to fix things to.

now, Petra, wish my swedish had been up to scratch, fab cage! wish I could have bought it. We have a couple Billy's here, I'll try to tell the OH about the idea... see what he thinks... I guess you don't use it upwards though, as a cage! rolleyes

I translated the page the english to read it :) It's a great idea for a cage.

Actually there is someone on the Irish guinea pig forum who made a bookshelf into a piggy cage, or else they made a cage that looked very like a bookshelf! But each shelf was quite spacious and there were about three or four shelves I think. I'd post a picture but not sure if I should, because it's not my cage.

Actually, I looked back at the photo of it, and she said it was built from scratch, but to look like a piece of furniture! So the shelves are a lot wider than bookshelves. :)

The cage looks amazing. Unfortunately I do not have the skills to build anything. I feel jelous :D

You could post a link to the picture of the page.

It's very generous that you are giving the money to the rescue. :) I wish I could read your blog as well, it looks great. I see you share the photos between there and the forum, wouldn't want to miss any photos of your cute guineas!

IKEA is really the best place to start learning, their stuff is super easy to build and comes with instructions! :)

What an absolutely gorgeous cage! I love it.

Well done you for donating too.

All you girls who say you can't build stuff... One third is in the right tools, one third is self confidence combined with some stubbornness and the last third is imagination. If you never start trying you'll never learn! Start small, build a hidey! Want to start smaller yet? Go to IKEA and get a storage box you like and make holes in it :) Start to build som DYI confidence!

About the blog I had plans to make it bilingual, but then didn't... It's pretty good, though :) I like writing!

skrik...i have to ask...where do you get the water bottle holder from? ive tried every pet store i could think of round here but none have those type and I'm in desperate need..please say you ordered them online somewhere......?

Thanks. I have only just found this thread again.

Wow, that is pretty good. I like the idea of always being able to see the piggies. Mine always seem to be hiding in boxes and I have to hunt for them.
