I have 2 sows and now have a 7 weeks old baby boy. He was an accident from a friend's pig, and I thought he'd be a good addition. Otherwise he was going up on Craigslist.

My issue is I can't get the neutering until around 7 months, right? And he's alone until then. I know this can't be good for him emotionally. What can I do during this time for him?

In the UK vets usually neuter at 4-5 months old I think, our vet went by weight and our little boar needed to reach 600g for neutering, he was about 18 weeks old and 680g when he had his op.
We kept our boy entertained by having him living next door to the ladies, and having playpen time next door to the ladies, so they could get to know each other through the cage bars, and also with lots of chewable furniture like haycubes and carrot cottages, and extra veggie snacks so he'd get big enough as he was rather underweight when we got him. And you can give him fleecy tunnels or hideys the ladies have slept and peed in, that will help him get used to their smell and reassure him he's not alone there are other piggies nearby. Dont forget the 6 week post-op wait before he's safe to meet the girls, its tough at the time but for such a young boy this is a great option you've chosen for him to have many happy years of married life :)

Hi!

Boar neutering is possible from when the testicles descend around 4 months old and your baby boy is health and a good weight.
He then faces a full 6 weeks post-op wait until he is 100% safe to go with sows.

Here are tips on what you can do while he is single. He can live next door to your sows as long as he cannot get at them for interaction, stimulation through the bars and greater acceptance when he is old enough for bonding.
We strongly recommend a traditional rabbit cage as C&C and Midwestern grids can be prized apart or jclimbed/jumped over.
