ooo you have a welsummer! so do we but she lives in the house now and goes on holiday with mum and dad! Shes over 10 years old now! old for a hen! Also is that an orpington you have as well?

We are chicken keepers here we have about 15+

We do have a couple of welsummers, but Garcon isn't one, he is a mixed small breed who was going to be disposed of because the owner kept breeding.
The other one is a silkie ( we have 3), we also have a couple of pekins ( Edward and girls), a maran, a speckled sussex, an auracuna and the rest are all mixed breeds who needed a new home when their owners moved away. They are all about 6-7 years old now and we have lost quite a few this year due to various old age problems. We get hardly any eggs these days, but are hoping to rehome some ex-commercial birds in the spring.
