I don't know if I've shown you these fleeces?

These two stripey ones I got at summer sales :) I like stripes, it feels so festive, somehow!

This was a present from the rescue lady, she knows I love fleeces and she found it when she was on holiday in Gotland (a large island off Sweden's east coast) where they've got a lot of sheep :)

Now I think I would like some solids too...
 
Both very nice but I particularly like the stripes. I have a bit of a thing for stripey stiff but probably couldn't have it in the cage as I would never get the lines straight and it would drive me insane. rolleyes Your cage is always so neat. :)
 
Oh good grief! I am so jealous of your cage. It's so so so amazing!

The fleeces are good too but they are set off to perfection by your wonderful cage!
 
Loving the fleeces! Where did you get your fabulous cage from?
 
Fabulous cage. It is even better than the brilliant one you sold earlier in the year. I thought at the time, 'Why on earth sell such a great cage?'. Now I realise why. This one is even better. What is the white stuff around the edges of the perspex sheets?

P.S. I was just looking at the picture of your cage on the gallery thread. I have those IKEA under bed storage units (your hayloft) and the IKEA wooden laundry box underneath and even the IKEA dustpan and brush (but in blue). (And I love the sheep fleece).
 
I am now getting obsessed with fleece as well now. Love the cage, you are very talented. You could probably make a living selling them.

No I probably couldn't, because it took me bloody ages and enough paticence to last a normal person three years. A curse jar would have left me with enough money for a flight to Brazil... :))

But a lot of people have asked about how to build one. We can't get cubes in Sweden and correx is pretty darn hard to find too, so we just make do with other materials :). I'm happy with it but next cage (OMG, did I just say "next cage?!?!) will have some changes to it. I'm already considering getting a new "front fence" done as the construction is a little weak...
 
haha, cubes are quite dear here compared to usa as well. I was thinking of trying to get some brought over but I guess the postage would be huge. Have also been thinking of what else could be used.
How do you attach the frames to the perspex?
 
ah yeah we have that, its called 'no more nails' haha!Is the glue ok for them then I take it once its dry?
 
it's between the plastic and wood, so they can't get to it. It doesn't smell either so I can't see it would be dangerous in any way. You still need screws at intervals, but the glue helps.
 
What a beautiful and summery fleece! Lovely cage set up too :)
 
I love your fleeces Petra, so jealous! Loving the massive hay mound at the top too.

And yes, "Next Cage Syndrome" is highly infectious and frankly, once you've caught it, you're stuck with it for life. Frequent flare ups of the condition are to be entirely expected. :)

yep i can just picture it now.....skrikopanik......world wide guinea pig architect! if only i could build one like that or at least have a c&c!
 
Hay mounds is how we roll over here :)) I discard a lot of hay, but it's cheap, biodegradeabe, is good for their teeth and their best ever entertainment...
