This is very hard for me to write, but I have to tell you that due to some personal circumstances here, I've had to rehome my guinea pigs. Basil has gone to a wonderful person who is very experienced and knowledgeable about piggies, and he's now cage mate to a girlie - I'm fortunate that I get updates about him from his new Mum. And Marigold & Lavender have gone to a local family, where they will belong to the 15 year old son, but they have all done a huge amount of research before committing to take them on, and I'm confident they will be fine. I've been invited to visit whenever I wish, so that is nice.
I do hope you won't feel badly of me - it's not a decision I took lightly, in fact I agonised over it for some time. And I'm not sure about my eligibility to remain in the Forum, if I'm no longer a guinea pig mum - I would dearly love to continue, because I think it's a wonderful Forum, and I have gained so much from it during the time I've belonged.
Anyway, that is my news :(

Hi Sue,

Aww that must have been hard for you. Of course in my opinion people who don't have pigs or who are looking to get them or who have had them in the past are welcome here. :)

Hope you are ok,

Louise

Oh bless you, sorry you had to make such a difficult decision but I'm sure you did what is best for the pigs. And I don't think you need a pig of your own to be on the forum!

Big hugs

Sophie

aw Sue i am so sorry you have had to rehome your guinea pigs. Its something that you obviously have thought long and hard about and completely unnderstand. Its not for anyone to judge on here as no one knows your circumstances.

Dont be silly about leavnig the forum, because you dont have piggies doesnt mean you cannot come on here, you are most welcome and I would love you to stay.

xx

That was a very brave decision to make and I know you had their best interests at heart.

It would be great if you stayed with the forum. Just because you are no longer a piggy mum, doesn't mean that you love piggies any less.

I am so glad that you are able to visit them :)

Sue,

You will always be welcomed on here by me with open arms, you know that, you've helped me so much.

I'm sure your trio will be looked after really well, I'm sorry you had to re-home them, but I know it's for the best.

Lots of love and best wishes from

So sorry to hear that you had to rehome your piggies :( and well done for finding them lovely homes. :) I don't think you need to own a piggy to remain on here, you still have a lot of knowledge that would be useful to people so I think you should remain on the forum.:)

awww Sue so sorry to hear about your piggies, it must have been a very hard decision to make, hugs to you xx

Don't be silly you will always be welcome on the forum! xx

This must be such a hard time for you, I couldn't bear to be without mine and i know it would break my heart if i had to part with them so i really feel for you. Hope year ok and i think you should stick around here - you are bound to get support when you need it most.:)

Sueg .... please stay around.

You have a lot of knowledge about piggies and I know how hard it must have been for you to rehome them. Keep posting Sueg ... please!

Aw, I am sorry to hear that you have had to re-home your piggies. I'm sure it took a lot of debating on what to do and at the end of the day you are only ensuring what is best for the piggies.

You will always be welcome on here. It doesn't matter that you don't have guinea pigs anymore, the help and advice you can give to other members on here will be very welcome. x

I'm sorry you had to give your little guys up but I'm also soo happy they went to good homes

Hi Sue, you always have a friend in me so please keep posting! It is to your credit that you took the trouble to find loving homes for you piggies, so dont leave us!

Fiona xx

Oh Sue, I am sorry to hear you had to go through that.

Of course you are more than welcome here. And I still need to nag you about your broadband! xx

I'd be sad to not see you on here Sue & i'm sorry you had to rehome your piggies but glad you know where they are & will get updates :)

You are all such lovely people, and I do appreciate the support you have shown me, thank you. Even Lucinda who's promising to nag me about Broadband rolleyes

It wasn't easy, but I know they'll be o.k. with their new people. :(

You're the best, and I'm so glad I found this Forum.

Sorry to hear. It's never a quick and easy decision to re-home the beloved piggies but if your personal circumstances change that much that you are no longer able to look after them the way you used to then it's better to find them good home where they'll be just as much loved and cherished as in your own.
Thinking of you!

Don't leave the forum just because you don't have piggies right now. There are a few on here that haven't got any piggies at the moment either but are reading up and informing themselves about them.

You KNOW what I think, sweetheart.......and I TOLD you everyone would want you to stay!! :) :) :)

Besides......you ARE still a new kind of piggie mummy.........;)

Love you!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I agree with the others Sue. You obviously thought long and hard about rehoming your piggies (never an easy decision) and you should be proud of yourself for having found them new loving homes.

Don't you dare think of not chatting to us all!:)

Sorry to hear you had to rehome your piggies, hope you're okay.
Sometimes, knowing your limitations and recognising that it's time to rehome your piggies is the most responsible thing to do, for both you and your pigs.

Besides, once a piggy mama, always a piggy mama! There's no escape, you're stuck here!
*insert maniacal laughter here*

Ah yes, there's no escaping is there (dashes away, followed by that hint of maniacal laughter!)

And thanks, I'm o.k. - though I keep dreaming about Basil!

But it's true - and I'm honoured to've been given the role of GodMother (or should that be PigMother?) to a delightful little chappie called Rudy, who belongs to March Hare (Jill).

I'm working on having his pigture as my avatar, instead of Basil .... so in time, when I can persuade one of the Mods to help me, you'll see my new (borrowed) boy.

I am so sorry! *hugs* That's soo brave of you! I'm sure that they will be fine in their new homes and it's good that you can get to visit them whenever you want.
I hope that your problems get sorted.
I think it would be sad if you leave the forum. Even if you are not a piggie mum no more at least you can still look at other peoples and give advice if they need it. I'm sorry again *hugs*

I am sorry as well, the piggies meant a lot to you and it must have been a hard decision. :Ayociexp118:

It is great that you found good homes for them and you can visit them and keep in touch. It is not easy trusting somebody else with our precious piggies.

There is no rule that only piggie mums and dads are allowed to stay in the forum, I thought it was for people interested in piggies, so there is no reason whatsoever for you to leave the forum! Especially because you have made many friends here and enjoy it so much!

A lot of people would miss you if you weren't here any more.

I am so sorry you have had to rehome your piggies, it must have been a very hard desion to make.
I do hope you stick around, I am sure lots will miss you and you must have lots of piggie knowledge, which would help new piggie mums like me.

I am proud to say that I am the new Hogmother of Basil. He has slotted in rather well to the Leyton Hoggy Pair Posse, and is living with my little minx Teasel (who, were she human, would be a biker chick who does all her own repairs).

My sister keeps planning to steal him.

Basil is a complete teddy bear of a Hoggy, who enjoys nothing more than watching his dinner being prepared.... Well, alright, he likes a cuddle more than watching his dinner being prepared. There is laid back, there is horizontal and then there is Basil.

I will eventually get round to some pigtures.

Many thanks to Sue for letting this chunk of lovability come to me.

Samantha

Oh, that's good to know where Basil is living now! Seems you two already have a lot of fun together.
Give little Basil a kiss from me. I don't know him personally but I think he is gorgeous! x>>

I'm happy, knowing he's so well looked after and loved - yes, pictures of him with Teasel would be wonderful :) And I really must get my avatar changed, it seems wrong that Basil is still adorning my posts ......
