I've been trying to teach my boar Peaches how to go up and down the ramp since February and he still hasn't gotten the hang of it.
But I recently got a new piggy Luna and didn't even start teaching her to go up and down the ramp and she is a pro at it. She didn't have a ramp before this. Clever pig!

Aww, I love watching guins run up ramps! My guin Six really couldn't get the hang of it at the first and kept on getting up half way and then reversing back down haha! But when I got baby Cap, he got how to use the ramp straight away, clever thing :D

Spike and Peanut have a new level and ramp in their cage. Took Spike 14 hours to pluck up courage to explore (and a cucumber trail), once he did it Peanut followed. After a few days they were zooming up and down. They make us laugh because they squeak and chatter a running commentary as they go up and down.

When Sage worked out how to go down the ramp he couldn't work out how to get back up. Meanwhile, Poldark (the brawn, not the brains) was on a separate floor going mental because he couldn't find his brother! It was 4 in the morning and they were wheeking for England! I had to put Sage back up on the top and then they purred happily to be reunited.
Now they both take great pleasure in running from me when they know it's cuddle time even though they enjoy cuddles once they're out.
Such silly, skitty pigs.

Sometimes reluctant ramp users need some adjustments to their ramps. Some are too uncomfortable about steep-angled ones and a gentle incline, and some like to have sides on their ramps, or even a tunnel. I find that once they pluck up the courage and realise it leads somewhere nice, there's no stopping them afterwards :)

I hear you! One of mine, Frenzy, was such a sweet girl, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer! We have a floor-level cage with a ramp to go in, and when I would put down new food in the cage during floor time, she would get very excited and run back and forth along the side of the cage with no door desperately looking for the way in! Silly pig! She could find the door okay when she wasn't excited, but throw some stimulation in there and she forgot everything she knew! LOL!

I never had ramps with neither of all the piggies I had, but for what I remember, I think Teddy is the most clever one. His cage is in my bedroom, and a day I wanted to give him more space for floor time, so I decided to teach him how to go to the living room (to get there from my bedroom, you have to cross a hallway) and he learnt how to go there pretty quickly, he just needed me to be by his side because he felt more secure that way. Now he just goes whenever he wants (I still go with him, but he doesnt need me anymore) and when he's done, he comes back to the bedroom without me guiding him!
