This morning when looking around their cage I have noticed some really small poops, around half the size of the normal ones. The shape and colour are normal, just the size is weird. There were not many, just a handful and the rest seem normal-sized.

I have two piggies in that cage, one adult and one 4-month old, so i cannot say who pooped them. Even for the 4-month old, they were really tiny.

Should I worry?
They seem alert, eat a lot and i just finished their weekly health check. The adult lost 17g this week (nothing to worry about here) and the teenager gained 36g.
I will look today more careful for any small/ weird poops.

Hi!

Hopefully it was just some little upset a day or so ago. Just keep an eye on them and weigh daily at the same for the next week.
It generally means a reduced food intake for a while.

Thanks. I will do that!
maybe, since yesterday we brought home a new female, they were so focused on her that they forgot to eat.. (she is still in a separate cage, they can hear each other, and most likely also smell each other, but they can't see or interact with each other)
The afternoon poops are already in normal size.

Please allow them to live alongside each other with full interaction through the bars/grids for a little while before introducing formally once you have finished any necessary quarantine provided your new girl is not coming from a place with a mandatory quarantine.

Absolutely! Tomorrow i want to offer them full interaction possibilities through the bars and keep it like that until Friday, when i would attempt an introduction session on a neutral ground.
I was just thinking to first let the new one settle up a bit, get used to her new environment before.

She was at the shelter into quarantine and i actually trust the shelter and even gave birth there to some healthy babies there.

Piggies are always about company; having new arrivals coming here they noticeably perk up and relax as soon as they can hear, smell and see other piggies. Company is so important for them even if they are not bonded. ;)

So, you are recommending that i allow full contact through the bars already?
I could do that already, there's no biggy
