My guinea pigs were always friendly towards another, today I went to put them back in there hutch because they were in their run and I recognised one of my guinea pigs had a chunk out of their ear... We put them back in together and my other Guineas pig with a full ear started bullying the other Guinea pig,, how do I solve it, do I separate them?

Hey, I'm by no means an expert but commenting because of the urgency.

I'd separate them right away. It's considered usual for boars to roughhouse time to time, but if they're drawing blood ( or ripping off an ear), it's better to separate them for now. At least until a more experienced user comes here to say otherwise.

The first time this year that I put my two boars out in the run they had a bit of arguing, teeth chattering, mounting chasing etc etc, I think I posted something about it on here. It’s new territory for them and the dominance thing starts up again. I’m guessing yours is more serious as one of them is injured which I’m sorry to hear.

It’s difficult to know what to do, because once you separate you can’t put them back together. How are they now back in the cage are they still fighting or have they settled down?

Hi and welcome

Can you please tell us what gender and what your age your piggies are? How long have you had them?
We need a bit more information to assess the situation.
