My friend has recently took in a coronet g.p from a family who didn't want her any more. She introduced her into her original female group of 5 and everything went perfectly for a whole month until.... she woke up to 3 baby piggies! They are soooo cute! She has 2 females and 1 male baby. My friend already has a lot of piggies so is selling the babies.

Now iv seen them I really want the females!

Please tell me why I shouldn't (or should)

I already have 6 piggers and used to have 7 until one passed (r.i.p winnie-pig) so what's 2 more going to hurt? I have the spare cage/run/bits!

Ooooooo what to do!

If you have the time, money and all the cages etc then I think it may be hard to talk you out of it! inbreeding I say go for it (probably not what you wanted to hear!)

Okay when I was considering getting another guinea (who Turned out to be Mork and I DID get him)

These are the main points people posted.

First - money, can you afford another 2?
Second - Time, do you have the time for them all?

If the answer is yes them I say go for it. Girls are very happy in large groups.

i am no use i am trying to convince my bf to let me have another one!

Time, space, money, attention, love...if you've got enough to give, then do!

If you got the time, money and room then go for it but have a long hard think about it hun x

1)i only do a few hours work a week, so time iv got!
2)money - really its only one extra pig after winnie past
3)iv got space- they have a 12x8 shed (not all to themselves tho)

sooooo...... mr boyfriend plzzzzzz

do it do it do it!
you have answered your own questions so there is no reason not to:))

I really want to, just got 2 see what the OH says as he puts money towards them aswell... although long haired piggers are his fave! So I might just take him along one day so he see them!

I recently seperated a neutered boar from the females because he was pestering them and being quite (erm....) sexual towards them and the girls hated it! So should I get the little boar to be his friend or will they fight?

i've got three boys, got two when they were little and introduced the third a couple of months later, there was a bit of a power struggle and it took a couple of weeks for them to settle down but now they all live together happily! i read that when you introduce new males to each other you should clean the cage with vinegar then bath the piggies so when they are put together they smell neutral. They also say putting them on a clean blanket at either then letting them meet each other in the middle is a good way to introduce them. good luck!

Yes you should get them as you seem to have the time, love and money.
Ive got two non brother piggy's living together and they are happy it did take a few months for them to settle totally but now they are fine. :)

I wouldn't recommend keeping the little boar, as he may become QUITE randy when he hits the hormones, especially with so many girls around! In view of your other boy being quite active...

However, you will find that it is fairly easy to find a new home for a pretty little baby boar, as there are quite a few lonely boars. You can always look for a home for him on here.

For keeping the girls, I'm probably the worst person to advise you, as I have just rehomed a couple of coronet girls only ten days ago and am now up to 7 piggies in my own tribe (having sincerely promised my hubby to stop at 6)!

My coronets ( and the new big cage) are going to be my big birthday presents.

PS: PLEASE post pics! x)x)

Hehe, you are asking for advice from some very biased people here... Why on earth should we talk you out of giving the two girls a home if you have the time, money and space? Sounds silly to me... Go for it!
