I was thinking that I could let people who cant have guinea pigs due to allergies/space/money etc sponser one of my hairy pigs. I used to do this with a horse and i got a newsletter, photos and a birthday card.
Then every 6 months I could donate most all the money I make to a guinea pig rescue and or the guinea pig forum...what do you guys think?
 
Thank you :) Do you think people would do it? I would need about £3.00 of the money for the printing of the photos, newsletters, cards and postage. But the rest i will put to one side and send here and a rescue. I dont no any other way I can raise money. I would really like to do it.

Also does anyone have any suggestions for what I should charge?
shall I do a 6 month option and a 12 month option?

I think a 12 month adoption package would be good at say £10 -£15?:))
 
Also is there a way I could prove the money would be going to the forum or a rescue?
 
That sounds like a really good idea. I think there would be a lot of people interested.

To answer my question I think I will just have a running total on the website about how much has been raised. Hopefully people will trust me. I could always print screen me donating the money.
 
Most rescues do offer a sponsorship package, I have 2 sponsors. Both of them I receive cards from. I'm sure if I could get there I would get cuddles too :))!

Its a great idea, but I personally would rather choose the rescue I want too donate too and donate myself though sponsoring one of there piggies.

You could perhaps work with a rescue and get people to sponsor there rescue pigs(ie longterm residents) and you could do the admin side (ie sending out cards).
 
Oh I didnt know alot of rescues did that already! :( I should think most people would rather do it via a rescue as they would no for sure that there money is going to the piggies.
I think I will still give it a go, I've tried selling jewellery but i havent had any buyers so this is the only other way I can think of getting money to donate.

I am going to, I wanted to ask you if it was ok to have the new skinnies sponsered first :) thanks for saying yes. I think people might want to sponser the skinnies as some people arent willing to pay the money for them, so its a way of sponsering one without having to part with alot of money x:(|)
