I really hope this will make you smile, @Wiebke

Merlin and Sisu have been staying at TEAS for a while now and as Merlin was neutered on the 11th December, it was now time for him to meet Sisu properly, rather than just chat through cage bars!

So far they’re really enjoying being together! šŸ˜

It’s early days, but I’m hopeful the friendship will grow and grow! šŸ’™ā¤ļø

I was going to enquire this weekend as to their introduction. It is great to see.

Merlin is such a sweetie boy who is not dominant at all and won't be challenging. I sincerely hope that Sulwen/Sisu is going to behave because she seemed to be slowly fond of him.

Merlin thought all his birthday’s and Christmases had come at once, as soon as he realised they were in the same cage and got very excited! However, Sisu just took it all in her stride and didn’t get at all annoyed with him! I think they had developed quite a friendship, interacting through the bars! In the last couple of weeks Merlin has really grown in confidence, so I think that’s really helped too xx

That is wonderful news, considering how totally over the top fear-aggressive Sulwen was at first with any other piggy. Taking it slowly with her has been really worth it. Merlin is her perfect foil. She's only 11 months older than him.

What great news. They look so good together.

Thank you ever so much for your good care, Merlin's op and now his bonding.

I couldn't have managed the last two months without your support as I am still battling my hip recovery, currently trying to build up my leg muscles and stamina as much as I can safely push it, my brain cancer/growing steroid side effects (especially my balance issues/wobbles whenever upright) and my persisting Long Covid exhaustion symptoms, which mean that I hit any limits faster and rather emphatically. :(

I’m so glad I was able to offer some help. I just wish I could’ve helped you more! You’re a very strong lady with huge determination! You’ve got this! x

I have my better and my worse days, when just getting through the day and doing my exercises is all I can do but I am focusing on working on the areas where I can make the biggest difference in my current life and not wasting too much energy on what is not under my control.

Such wonderful news Debbie, well done for getting these two together

I so miss them!

Anyway, I sincerely hope that they can finally return after the turn of the month once we are finally over our bad cold after nearly a month of it and can cage clean ourselves as the lovely local lady who has been helping us has sadly become very ill with a medical problem herself.

Thankfully, I am able to pick up bedding and replace it now by bending from the hip without getting too dizzy and hub has become expert with the hay trays. We need to work out how to best deep clean the cage bottoms as I can finally crouch or kneel shortly and get myself up again safely but I can't stay down not yet quite long enough without getting a reminder that my hip area is not happy. It's a trial and error process until we have finessed it. We will get there soon since it is mostly an organisational issue on how to work around it and it's now finally nearly within reach. :)

When I broke my hip I never imagined that it would take that long and that it was just the very start of such a life-changing journey! I cannot thank you enough for being so patient, @furryfriends (TEAS) .
