Hi, I just got back from holiday and I've left my piggies with my neighbor who has cleaned them out every other day. I washed my piggies when I got back and I noticed something wrong with Tiggies bottom and I don't know what it is. I've attached photos as I don't know how to describe it. Hopefully someone will know whats wrong and how I can go about sorting it. Thankyou xIMG_20170805_202204924.webp IMG_20170805_202135977_BURST001.webp

That looks infected! If she were my pig l would take her to the vets Asap

That looks sore, possibly a graze or the start of a big of fungal? Definitely a vets visit :)

Let us know how she gets on :)
I went to the vet today and they said she had urine burn because she wasn't picked up as much when I was away. I have a cream that should help it heal. Thanks for everyone's help x

I would keep an eye on it still and make sure it doesn't come back. It doesn't sound right that she would have a urine scald just from not being picked up and there are several conditions that can make them leak urine more frequently or sit in their own urine more. Things like UTIs, cysts and arthritis have all caused this in pigs I've had in the past

I can always take her back to the vets if this doesn't improve in a couple of days. Thankyou

Normally if they get urine scald its if they have been in the same place for a long time. See how she goes & if it doesn't improve, pop her back to the vets.

I agree with Lady Kelly, urine scald isn't associated with a piggy not getting picked up. It's generally because they are sitting in their own urine and being inactive would indicate there is something wrong. It's worth spending as much time as possible watching her and seeing her bowel movements, or whether she squeaks when pee'ing.
