I am rescuing my first little boy piggy in a few days, here is a picture of him...
I am very knowledgeable on Guinea Pigs because my brother had them growing up, I wanted to get some so bad. But when the time came when I was old enough, a lot of things were happening so I just waited until now. I have my own place and am ready for one. I don't know what to name him, any ideas?

Hi and welcome

What a little cutie! How old is he? He looks like he is barely weaned.

Is he your only guinea pig? Please make sure that he is correctly sexed and then get him an also pre-checked same sex companion; he will be desperate for company, even more so at this young age!
Please be aware that guinea pigs are group animals and not really wired to live alone; just a cuddle and some roaming time is not enough to cover the round the clock need to for interaction with their own kind as your pursue your own aims in life, including socialising with your friends. The recognition just how vital this is for guinea pigs is one of the major shifts that has happened over the last few years. Sadly Switzerland is still the only country where these advances are enshrined in law so far. Companionship

More minimal space, changes in diet and understanding of their social interaction and behaviours are other areas, together with major advances in medical care (and sadly, much higher vet fees to accompany the enhanced services) where our understanding of guinea pigs and their needs have made massive advances in the last 5 years. It is an exciting time - I hope that you will enjoy discovering so much more than we used to know!

You may find our new owners' guide collection very interesting and helpful in catching up and learn fascinating new things to the greater enjoyment of your piggies. The guide collection also contains a sexing link, as well as links to recommended vets and rescues in a number of countries as well as guides on guinea pig social interaction and how you can use that for a spot of guinea pig whispering.

He's adorable. For some reason I think you should call him Little Chief White Paw.... Chief or Paws for short.

He looks gorgeous. But piggies really need to be in pairs, so perhaps think about adopting a pair rather than a single piggy.
