Sooo Excited For Saturday

I am so excited for Saturday but it seems so far! I'm sure it will swing around sooner than I realize and then I will be on the way to collect my handsome little guy.

The only thing I dread is that I am picking him up from the rescues main HQ which is also where they quarantine new arrivals. I was warned by the home checker that I will see A LOT of guinea pigs many of which are not yet listed and that the "awww factor" is tough to resist.

I just hope I don't fall in love with an additional one while I am there! I've already seen a really cute sow on their website I am trying hard to resist...and she is there.

I'll need to go in wearing blinkers I think!

So 4 hours later and we are home.

I was about to clean the cage out so it would be all fresh when low and behold a child spills a drink all over the clean fleece liner! So now both lots of liners are in the washing machine and Freyja and the new guy are in the empty bath on a towel with a hayrack and a bowl of veggies getting to know one another. Not the most ideal of places for a first meet but at least they can run around a bit and get some quiet away from excited kids.

The new guy is super cute. He has a bit more white in him than I was expecting. The rescue picture was of his more agouti side and due to the distance visiting him beforehand was out of the question. He is still very handsome and will need a name later as his rescue name was really terrible.

Edit: Turns out the bath was a good idea as Freyja is spraying him to deter his amorous intentions. YUCK. Looks like they both might need a bath once they have eventually decided "Yeah ok I like you."
Typical male... "Hey I'm a guy, your a girl.. let's get it on!" Come on Mr, you'll have to be a bit more charming than that to win Freyja over, she wants to be more than just your speedhump.

And if I ever did an introduction again I would definitely use the bath. Ours was also a complete spray fest

Oh yeah it smells pretty rancid in the bathroom now, Fortunately the liners are quick drying so they should not have to be in the bath too much longer.

I can image what it was like with your clan all spraying! Will post some pictures later today when things are a little calmer.

Cage liners are currently drying so they will be out of the bath and back in paradise soon enough. They were cuddled up when I went in so looks like they are settling down.

Hoping for some better pics but since they are in the c&c cage he is hiding!

I love his big dark eyes, I have a soft spot for Agouti piggies. Freyja has no agouti in her coat she is just dark chocolate in her face/butt

You can see how I fell in love with him right? He still needs a name as his rescue name/name from previous owner was less than flattering. I still can't believe someone gave him up he is only 8 months old.
