I went out to the playhouse this morning and sooty did not look very alert! Didnt want any veg and floppy. He even let me pick him up without me having to chase him. His eyes were a bit watery too. Took him to the vets who didnt seem to be worried.
They told me to leave him there whilst they observed him. They just called me to say that there only concern is that hes cold, so hes on a heatpad. They are talking about him coming home later. I'm concerned as hes not eating, very lathergic, cold and runny eyes.
I know noone can diagnose via a forum and hes already at the vets but does anyone have a clue what this sounds like? How would he have got cold . Hes in the playhouse in a hutch with plenty of hay and bedding.

It can be a variety of things. Can you ring up your closest good guinea pig rescue near Neath and ask them what piggy savvy vet they use? Apathy and loss of appetite are major alarm signals.

I am sorry to hear Sooty is unwell. I really hope he gets better soon.

Ohhh I'm so sorry Sooty is poorly, if you're unhappy with your vets you could ring your local rspca and see which vets they recommend :)

Thanks everyone. I picked sooty up about an hour ago. They told me to collect him.I'm quite suprised, as this vet is usually very good. Its the vet that cardiff guinea pig rescue use. Ive brought her inside and shes very still. The vet has told me to take her back to get checked in the morning.

They told me that she went lathergic because she got cold. I dont know how this could have happened as shes in the playhouse in a hutch. I cant even go to another vet this evening as i have no means of transport. My car is off the road as i got hit by another car last friday. My husband is away working with his car. This vet is within walking distance. Its not been a good few days for me. But then i shouldnt complain theres plenty people far worse off!

Oh dear poor Sooty. Maybe you could house her indoors to ensure she is kept warm?
