Junior Guinea Pig
It has been so long since I've updated on Sophia, a (previously) lone piggie. I was really set on adopting a guinea instead of buying. But if it had to come to it I would have bought one. Luckily, my mother was already planning a trip to Atlanta and we set up to adopt a guinea! I live in a very small town in the middle of nowhere. Atlanta is 5 hours from where I live.
We packed up Sophia and brought her with us. Mr. Thomas (of the Oakhurst Guinea Pig Rescue in Decatur) was so friendly and even was willing to keep Sophia for us during our vacation. Sophia and Bubbles bonded instantly. We brought them both home and the next morning we moved them into the new cage! If anyone lives in Georgia or bordering areas, please consider Oakhurst. The couple who runs it is just so sweet.
Mr. Thomas said that the instant Bubbles and Sophia met, Sophia couldn't stop popcorning. She was very sad until Bubbles came along.
I got to find out that Sophia is a definite omega. Bubbles runs the joint. Although Bubbles is very skittish and is very scared of me and distrusting. I am building her trust but she has still been underneath the steps for about three days. She comes out and drinks water while I
I'm sleeping or out of the room. I have to push the veggies, pellets, and hay underneath the steps constantly in fear she is not eating enough lol.
