After losing his friend Buzz at the end of last year, Tim has been on his own as we wanted to be sure that he was healthy before introducing a new friend. Well his big day came yesterday and we took him on the train to Rabbit and Guinea Pig Welfare in Rugby to choose his new friend. We met the lovely Tracy and set about choosing a friend for Tim. There were a number of speyed sows who were from the litters of pigs that were the result of the 21 pigs dumped on the drive back in September. Anyway, Tim loved the first pig he was introduced to, he was a bit flummoxed by the whole thing but once he realised she was in the run with him he started rumbling bless him. There was no aggression whatsoever in the run or the carrier on the long journey home. Tim even attacked my OH's hand when he dared stroke his precious new friend.

Anyway, they are now all settled into a newly rearranged cage and seem very happy, lots of popcorning etc.

Here she is, meet Sophie:

Oh they look lovely together. I love that they seem inseparable! You have a lovely cosy snuggly set up

A great piggy romance. Love how Sophie is interested in exploring her new home but Tim is only interested in exploring Sophie!

LUCKY Tim! Sophie is a cutie indeed! Great that it was love on first sight...

My old lady Dizzy was also very possessive about her neutered "toy boy" Llewelyn, and he was devoted to her. ;)

Thanks everyone, things are still good, they are still going through the rumbling stage but have not seen any aggression on either side. She does need to tell him what for when he gets too much though. Good news too in that she has finally mastered the ramp so now has further to run away. I do hear lots of happy squeaks from them both too and he is letting her eat.

So pleased to see Tim has a wifey pig! Sophie is Gorg drool Her eys are adorable! Hope it continues to go well, looking forward to hearing more on their blossoming friendship.

This sounds very similar indeed to my piggie situation :) It's great that they are both getting on so well, the photos are lovely. Hope it continues to go well!

Thank you.

All is going well so far, they woke us up this morning with their charging about and popcorning.

Thought I'd already posted about this but can't have - Sophie has taught Tim how to burrow under fleece and they are a nightmare together, always under there, making everything tip up. We thought we had solved it when the OH put pegs every inch or so around the correx but no, we are laying there the other night trying to sleep and herd pinging and by the morning they had pinged off enough pegs to get back underneath, so we give up!
