Hi piggyfan, your Sophie pie is beautiful and so chilled out. I have a Sophie pie too, she is my avatar pic. She is six now and is lovely, she came from the Cats Protection League. We only had her a few months when she had an accident and lost an eye. It's great to know that there is more than one Sophie pie out there.

Your Sophie pie is beautiful too. Poor baby losing her eye.

Hi piggyfan, Sophie went missing for four days,we searched everywhere and asked all our neighbours but no one had seen her. She came home on a Sunday afternoon and obviously knew something as very wrong. She had an operation the next day and the vet said she was in a real mess. He advised us she could have serious brain damage, but luckily she got away with losing an eye and having some squint teeth. She is a very nervous cat but also very loving and she loves the good weather.

How awful. Do you know what happened?

Hi, the vet wasn't sure. Her paws weren't scuffed the way they would be if a car hit her, so she thought someone kicked her in the face. She's fine now and copes really well. She lives with Hamish my big cuddly ginger boy.

That is very upsetting. Some people are just scum. I love cats but would be so scared to let them out as people can be cruel to them.

I had considered keeping her as an indoor cat as the lady from the CPL said she was too nervous to go out. After a few days at our house she started to howl at the door, maybe she saw Hamish go out and wanted to explore too.
My husband and I discussed it and decided to see how she did outdoors. She absolutely loves it and she has blossomed, we know there are risks but I think it is worth it for our cats quality of life.
PS my hubby thinks she was hit by a vehicle as she was so timid she wouldn't let anyone close enough to attack her. I'm not sure, but I hope he's right as the thought of anyone deliberately hurting her makes my blood boil.
