Senior Guinea Pig
We lost our beautiful Sophie yesterday. She had not got up for her veg the morning before though I did manage to tempt her with some. We took her to the vets that night and her tummy was sensitive so we came home with the usual gut meds. We started syringe feeding and put her on the massage pad and she was no better the next morning but I was not able to get time off. I got home from work and she had gone before we could get her back to the vet. She was such a special girl. We adopted her in 2013 as a baby from a rescue that routinely spayed their sows as Tim needed a friend after losing Buzz and was not neutered. It was a match made in heaven and they have been inseparable ever since. She looked after him after his op to remove his eye and enjoyed staying at TEAS. She developed quite a soft spot for Priya the cat. She came home a different colour and had gained so much confidence. Sophie had her own health issues as she was a heart pig and also needed regular dentals due to having one bottom incisor. In December 2017 she had a horrible bladder stone removed which luckily was sticking out. Tim is going to miss her so much so we need to monitor him over the next few days. He is doing ok at the moment. Sweet dreams beautiful angel. We will love you always xx
